Hi beautiful soul! If you haven’t gotten down to working on your resistance yet because—oh, well, I don’t know, it’s hard—you better read this and go through that again.
Working on the resistance, aka facing your fears, is what separates those who are serious about unleashing their true power from those who aren’t. And as you go along the way and discover new desires you want to manifest, it’s likely that you’ll find more forms of resistance coming up.
Don’t lose hope if they do. Celebrate the fears instead because it means you’re ready to release them. Celebrate the resistance because it means your desires are moving ever closer to you. Contrary to what most people believe, fear isn’t there to ruin your life. The only reason fear shows up is because it needs to be released. That’s all there is to it.
And don’t think for a second that just because you’ve reached the level of a master manifestor that you’re never going to feel any fear anymore. You’ll still feel fear. You’ll still feel resistance. The only difference is it’ll be easier for you to recognize it, acknowledge it, and release it with love.
Continue to release any fear that holds you back while listening to your inner guidance for what to do next. Because even as you are doing your inner work (aka releasing resistance), you will also need to take physical action to manifest your desire into the physical.
Do I really have to take action? I thought the Law of Attraction was all about using the power of the mind. When I first started using the Law of Attraction more than a decade ago, I wanted to manifest a basket of money to appear on my front doorstep within the next two months. Literally. I saw in my mind’s eye the native woven basket that my mom used when she went to the farmer’s market. Of course, you know what happened. Of course, no basket of money appeared on my front doorstep within the next two months or any time after that.
What I completely forgot at the time was that, even though no basket of money showed up, I was actually making 40K per month at my first job out of university. So even though my basket of money didn’t arrive, I was actually living the money dream back then, at least the money dream for a 21-year-old. In other words, I received my manifestation, only in a very different form than I imagined in my head. In hindsight, I realize I was actually a pretty good magic-maker even back then.
And you know why? Because I was already pretty good at taking inspired action, which is essential if you want to make magic happen. What is inspired action? Inspired action is action that feels, really, really, really good. It’s action that easily and effortlessly brings you closer to your desire in the most fun ways possible.
Looking back, all my best manifestations happened because I knew how to take action that I actually wanted to take. Because there’s a difference between action that you are forced to take and action that you are inspired (by a higher power, your inner guidance, the Universe, etc.) to take.
Forced action is pretty much what you see everywhere these days. People “working hard” to achieve their goals. Sacrificing. Striving. Struggling. People thinking they have to do things they don’t want to do today so they can have things they want when they turn 65 years old.
Most of us know what forced action feels like. It’s action that you certainly, absolutely, undeniably DO NOT want to do. Inspired action, on the other hand, are the things you know you are meant to do. These are the things that you want to do. These are the things that you enjoy. These are the things that give you a sense of fulfillment just by the simple act of doing them. Inspired action may, and often will, take you out of your comfort zone, but you still want to do it anyway just because.
Some of you might say that it feels fulfilling to sacrifice, strive, and struggle for the things you want. Isn’t that inspired action as well? Let’s get really clear here. Inspired action feels fulfilling in the present moment that you’re doing the work. Sacrificing, striving, and struggling may feel fulfilling afterwards, if and only if you get the reward for all the work. Because there’s a 50% chance you won’t.
And if that happens, sacrificing, striving, and struggling will feel resentful to you, which is the complete opposite of what you want to feel. There’s no other reason to take inspired action except that you want to. So there’s a huge difference between forced action and inspired action. And you know in your heart you’re not going to get what you want just by sitting in front of the TV and binging on deep-fried potatoes.
You didn’t come to this physical world just so you can wave an imaginary magic wand and make things appear out of thin air. You’ve got to bust your ass and do something about it. But the good thing is you don’t have to do something you don’t really want to do. All you really need to do is to do the things you knew you were meant to do.
This entails two things.
- You have to learn how to tune in and listen to your heart, which is unfailingly right about, well, pretty much everything.
- You have to trust that your heart always knows the way—because it does—and do the things your heart tells you to do.
So look at the thing your heart desires the most. Have you truly listened to your heart about what you need to do about it? We’re not talking about advice given to you by someone else. Not your parents’ dreams, not your bosses’ expectations, and certainly not anything you’ve picked up from Internet gurus. We’re talking about what your heart really wants to do in this moment.
If you haven’t looked into your heart yet, this is the time to do so. By the way, have you noticed we’re going deeper and deeper the further along we go learning about the Law of Attraction? That’s because at the heart and soul of all of this, you’ll find the incredible manifesting powers you’ve always had but was too afraid to find.
Before you take action, ask yourself what you need to do and go do that thing. You may have known the answer all along and have been putting it off because it’s scary as shit. Or you may be surprised what your heart tells you to do. I’m not even going to try and guess what kind of action your heart wants you to take. I don’t know and I have no way of knowing what only you can ever know.
Many of it may not make sense at all. The Universe often works in illogical, irrational ways that the thinking mind doesn’t understand. So if it seems like your heart—which has a direct connection to the Universe—is telling you to do something that doesn’t make sense, do it anyway.
If your heart is telling you to get up and get dressed for your fourth-cousin’s gender reveal party even though you’ve previously planned on not going, go ahead and get ready for that party. You never know what the Universe has in store for you along the way. All that I know is that it’s always got something awesome in store for you. Because the Universe is always rooting for you. In the same way that I am.
