I want to take this opportunity to give you a massive virtual hug for making it this far. Seriously, not everybody who are on a mission to uncover their true manifesting powers will make it this far. As you very well know, it’s easy to start. But to keep on keeping on isn’t for the faint of heart.

You know what I mean. Everybody who’s ever begun to find out more about who they are have asked themselves: Can I really do this? Is the Law of Attraction even real? How do I know I’m not being scammed into just another Internet marketing fraud? The third question is the easiest one to answer. You’re not. Because I’m going against everything I learned as an Internet marketer in my previous career and just going with whatever feels true to my heart.

As for the first two questions, you will have to decide the answers yourself. But it helps to know that these questions aren’t really questions whose answers you’re looking for. What these questions are, my friend, are simply the forms of resistance that naturally show up once you decide what you want and start the process of manifestation.

Here’s that process in a nutshell.

  1. You notice what you want.
  2. You step into the feeling of what you want.
  3. You feel some resistance around what you want.
  4. You release that resistance.
  5. You step into the feeling of what you want again, and again, and again. And each time, you step into the feeling with more clarity and specificity than before.
  6. You receive what you want.

Keep in mind that the process isn’t linear. It’s actually more of a dance than a process. You will find yourself skipping some steps and staying too long on others. You may find you don’t even have any resistance at all, in which case, congratulations! Your desire is just right around the corner.

But first, what is resistance? Resistance is simply the fear that creeps back in when you start to manifest what you want. Resistance comes with being human. It’s a natural part of life in the physical. Often, the bigger your desires are, the bigger the resistance is.

This is why when you want, say, a bowl of ice cream, you don’t feel scared about not getting the ice cream. You know you’ll get that ice cream. You have absolutely no doubt that you’ll get that ice cream one way or another. But when you want, say, a business that makes a million dollars, all the fear and doubt from God knows where start to creep in.

For every desire that matters to you in a big, life-changing way, resistance will always show up. ALWAYS. It can sneak in like a thief in the night, subtle and quiet but still there. Or it can charge in like an angry bull throwing you on your back and off the ring. Either way, it’s still there. And if you’re still in this with me even with this resistance, congratulate yourself!

You’ve reached step 3 in the manifestation process, which means you’re naturally ready for step 4. (Yes, it’s as quick and simple as that.) Many people never get to this point. Because many people never get to muster the courage to start with step 1 of the manifestation process in the first place. And those who do find the courage often find themselves back to square one. Because once they encounter resistance, aka fear showing up in whatever way feels scariest for them, they have no idea what to do.

This is where many teachers will tell you to just keep going. To ignore your fears.  Or to shove the fear aside and press on. Or to laugh in the face of fear and go ahead with what you’re doing. We all know how difficult that is. Even with the best intentions, most people aren’t able to set their fears aside.

You know what? Maybe because we don’t have to. Maybe our fears aren’t the giant monsters hiding inside the closet, ready to pounce on us at the worst moments. You always decide how things go your way. And so you can decide to make fear more than what it is, or you can look at fear for what it really is—simply those parts of you that you refuse to listen to.

So here’s what I propose that you do. Instead of paying no attention to your fear, I propose that you go all in and give your fear all you’ve got. I can hear all the alarm bells going off now. What?! Are you crazy?! No freakin’ way!

Look. How many times in the past have you tried to press ahead, pretending you’re not scared, and failed miserably? I’m not saying ignoring fear doesn’t work. If shoving aside the fear and pressing ahead works, that means the fear didn’t come from you in the first place.

I’m talking about your BIG FEARS. The ones that make you tremble just at the thought of them. The ones that make you feel like all the work you’ve done have come undone. The ones that cause everything to come crashing down on you. These are the fears you can’t ignore. Because these are the fears that are the key to unlocking your manifesting powers.

Everything you’ve ever truly wanted lies inside the very core of these fears. They are the compass that points to your true North. They are the messengers here to show you where you need to put your focus on. So buckle up ‘cause we’re going for a wild ride.

If you want to become free of your fears, all you have to do is to sit down and feel them. Okay, I know that can be vague, so let’s get clear on what this task is and what this task is NOT. This is NOT ruminating about your fear. This is NOT berating yourself for being scared. And most of all, this is NOT replaying your fears over and over in your head until you go crazy. What this is is to become aware of where the fear resides in your physical body. Because it’s there. It ALWAYS is. And you thought your physical body was simply a bag of flesh and bones, right?

This is where awareness comes in. if you’ve been practicing awareness every day, it will be easy for you to notice where the fear is. I, for example, almost always feel resistance right in the middle of my chest. Sometimes, it feels like a heavy stone weighing me done. Other times, it feels like a knife twisted in. Other times, I feel the fear in my stomach. And I’ve gotten so good at releasing fear that many times I just fart it all out! The smellier the better. Sorry, TMI, but it’s true. It just goes to show that even with your fears, you can have some dirty fun too!

But what this is all about is allowing yourself to release. And the only way to release anything is to acknowledge that it’s there. And to acknowledge an emotion means to actually feel it. It’s not about using your mind to acknowledge it. You can’t think to yourself, “I acknowledge that I’m feeling a shitload of fear inside,” and wonder why that fear hasn’t gone yet.

You need to go to the very center of that fear to feel it. And trust me when I say IT’S ACTUALLY NOT THAT SCARY AT ALL. Do you remember the saying, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself?” Well, with all due respect to Franklin D. Roosevelt, but I call bullshit on that one. There’s no need to fear your fear because it isn’t out to get you. It’s actually out to protect you from whatever it thinks is harmful to you. Obviously, fear was fed the wrong information about what is and isn’t good for you. It’s got it all jumbled up. That’s all there is to it.

And you don’t even have to feed that fear the right information to let go of it. You simply need to feel the fear. It’s not hard. It’s not even going to take a lifetime, or even a day, or an hour to do this. It only takes a few minutes of your time to acknowledge fear and let it go.

What it takes is for you to go to a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed for a few minutes. Just a few minutes. This doesn’t take forever. And then sit quietly and just feel where the fear is in your body. Approach it gently, openly. Look at it like a long-lost friend who’s ready to re-establish ties with you once again. And if your mind gets in the way—because it will get in the way—use a mantra to help you focus on that fear. I use different mantras depending on how I’m feeling on any given day. Sometimes, it’s “It’s okay to feel your fear.” Or just, “It’s okay.” Sometimes, it’s “Allow yourself to feel this fear.” Or just, “Allow, allow, allow.” What these mantras do for me is they help my mind and body relax so that I can give my fear soft yet unrelenting focus.

You’ll be surprised just how anti-climactic the ending is. If you’ve been expecting fireworks or an explosion of emotion, well, don’t. You’ll simply realize that the fear has dissipated. Mostly, that’s what it does. It disappears straight into thin air. Other times, it doesn’t vanish completely, but it changes. It becomes less intense, in which case, congrats because you’re doing well. Sometimes, another emotion arises, like shame or guilt or anger, in which case, congrats because you’re doing well. Whatever happens, continue to feel the fear until it’s gone OR until it’s small enough for you to completely ignore so you can charge onward.

That is how you release your fears. This is what separates the bold and daring from the rest. This is what makes you a master at life—having the willingness to face the stuff that very few people on Earth are willing to face.
